Portillo Scharfhausen, Fernando Jorge (1924-2011)

Spanish businessman, professor of commerce, and politician. He held various management positions in several companies in the private sector. President of the Cádiz Provincial Council (1967‑1969). On the occasion of his dismissal, there was a protest by the aforementioned provincial corporation and by representatives of the province who sent two telegrams to the Vice President of the Government, Luís Carrero Blanco, and to the Minister for the Interior, Camilo Alonso Vega.
In his political role, and within his Partido Social Liberal Andaluz (Andalusian Social Liberal Party), he contributed to the establishment of Unión de Centro Democrático (UCD/Union of Democratic Centre) in the province of Cádiz. He was UCD deputy for Cádiz in the Constituent Assembly (1977-1979). He was also president of the Caja de Ahorros de Cádiz (savings bank) between 1975 and 1982, as well as a member of the Banco Popular's board of directors.
