History:

Film director and producer, of Egyptian origin.He began his career as a film producer at Paramount's European studio, alongside his brother Raymond Hakim. Later, in 1934, both created the company Paris Film Productions. Among his production are the films Pépé le Moko (1937), Le Jour se lève (1939), The Southerner (1945), The Long Night (1947) -interpreted by Henry Fonda-, Casque d'or (1953) -interpreted by Simone Signoret-, Plein Soleill (1960) -interpreted by Alain Delon-, Notre Dame de Paris (1956) -interpreted by Anthony Quinn and Gina Lollobrigida-, Belle de Jour (1967) -directed by Luis Buñuel-.
