History:

Spanish priest and professor. His parents were Manuel Heredero Hernández and María Antonia Mayoral y Alcalá, who were farmers of the village where he was born. He travelled to Madrid to continue his education, he studied in San Isidro's school, and later on, he went to the Council Seminary of Astorga (León), where his uncle was the bishop from the diocese.

Subsequently, he studied in the University of Alcalá (Madrid), where he obtained a PhD in Teology, the chair in Retoric, joining the priestly ordination. He was the priest of Santa María la Mayor (Alcalá de Henares), the place where Cervantes was baptized, where he tried to find out some questions about his family. He was the priest of the University and the Magisterial Cathedral in the same city, and later, he had the chair of Spanish Literature in Madrid.

During the Trienio Liberal (Liberal Triennium) he was in the parish of Santa Cruz in Madrid. He was good at rhetoric and translation, he knew Greek, Latin, Hebrew and French, and he did the translations of Jean Puget de La Serre's books, and works in Latin like El latino instruido. Furthermore, he wrote prayers and sermons, the most famous is Narrración de la venida del rey Don Fernando VII a la Universidad de Alcalá y arenga, which he did for His Majesty in 1816.

He was appointed academic of the Spanish Royal Academy of History in 1818, he was a liberal and a supporter of the Constitution of 1812, a member of the Patriotic Society of Alcalá and was accused to be a comunero and a jansenist, as he tried to promote the studies of the Holy History and the mysteries of the faith. In the Ominous Decade he went into exile to Pastrana, and later, he went to his village.
