He was stage actor and film director born in the United States. Levin's artistic career began as on Broadway acting in the film Somewhere in France (1941). Two years leater, in 1943, Levin signed a contract to work at Columbia Pictures. His first film as director was Cry of the Werewolf (1944). In April 1951 Levin signed an exclusive contract with 20th Century Fox, being his first film for them Belles on Their Toes (1952). At the end of his career, he finally did some television work, directing some episodes of the show Knots Landing.
