Alverny, Marie Thérèse d' (1903-1991)

French historian, archivist, and librarian. Bachelor in Humanities, she studied in the École Nationale des Chartes (ENC) (1928) and he graduated in the École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE) (1943). She obtained her PhD with a thesis about Alain de Lille in 1963. In 1989 she was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Jagiellonian University of Kraków (Poland).
She was librarian (1928-1946) and curator (1946- 1962) at the Department of manuscripts of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BNF) and oversaw the editing of the tomes III, IV and V of the Catalogue général des manuscrits latins of the afforementioned library.
From 1957 to 1978 she gave lessons of codicology and Latin philosophy of the Middle Ages at the Centre d'Études Supérieures de Civilisation Médiévale (CESCM) of the University of Poitiers. In addition, she was researcher of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) between 1963 and 1973. Since 1953 co-headed the magazine Archives d'histoire doctrinale et littéraire du Moyen, founded in 1926.
She was the president of the Commission of Bibliography of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science (IUHPS).
Her studies about Latin medieval authors and Arabic Latin medieval translations. She died in the French capital in 1991 at the age of 88.
Entre 1958 y 1959 investigó en el Archivo de la Corona de Aragón (ACA) de Barcelona, figurando como tema de la investigación "Manuscritos de Ripoll y San Cugat".
