French soprano of Basque descent.
Born in Oloron Sainte-Marie (France) in 1888. She was a concert singer and soloist at the Conservatoire de Paris. She worked with composers such as Béla Bartók, Joaquín Nin and, above all, Maurice Ravel. She was a faithful performer of Ravel's works, especially "Chansons populaires grecques", which she sang on various occasions. Through her friendship with Ricardo Viñes and Adolfo de Matheu -Manuel de Falla's cousin- she was able to correspond with the Spanish composer after 1916. She admired his work, and her repertoire, included the songs from "El amor brujo" and "Trois Mélodies" for voice and piano. Died in
Saint-Jean-de-Luz (France) in 1976.
