History:

Spanish bandurria player and actor.

He was born on April 3 of 1899 in Murcia (Spain) and died on July 17 of 1967 in Punta del Este (Uruguay). Son of Francisco de Paula González Aguilar and Filomena Peñaranda Moreno, his siblings were Juan, Francisco, Ezequiel, Lola, and Elisa. He married Elvira Ferreira.

He started his musical studies with his father and siblings and later perfected them with Germán Lago. He was a member of the Aguilar Quartet as bandurria soprano in the beginnings, and later on as bandurria contralto. Through this musical group he kept in contact with composers such as Joaquín Turina, Germán Beigbeder, or Manuel de Falla. He graduated in Commercial Management from University of Madrid. He worked in music and theatre professionally. After the disbandment of the Aguilar Quartet, he retired in Punta del Este (Uruguay).
