Gilman Proske, Beatrice (1899-2002)

Americal curator.
She studied art's history and libraries' administration in the Simmons College of Boston. In 1920, she started working as a librarian in the Hispanic Society of New York. After training as a museum curator, in the specialty of sculpture, she was named assistant of the museum's curator. Beatrice developed her whole career as a curator in the Hispanic Society until her retirement in 1972.
She was respected for her impeccable investigation work related with the Spanish sculpture. She was member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes y Ciencias Históricas de Toledo, the Academia de Santa Isabel de Hungría in Seville, and the Academia de San Fernando in Madrid.
En el año 1960 acudió como investigadora al Archivo General de Indias (A.G.I.) de Sevilla para buscar información sobre Juan Martínez Montañés.
