History:
Spanish librarian and bibliographer.
Born in Madrid in 1914, and passed away in this same city on 28 March 1998. Son of the also archivist Justo García Soriano.
After studying Philosophy and Letters, he won the position in the Cuerpo de Auxiliares de Archivos, Bibliotecas y Museos in 1933; later on, in 1944, he won it in the Cuerpo de Facultativos, with destination in the Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE). In this centre, he had for years, and until his retirement, the direction of the Centro Nacional del Tesoro Documental y Bibliográfico.
He was author of numerous articles about bibliography, library science and Spanish classic literaries; in special, he is remembered for his Bibliografía de la imprenta en Burgos, work that deserved the Premio Nacional de Bibliografía in 1946.
