Soler Langa, Isaac (1907-1965)

Spanish archivist-librarian and secondary teacher.
He studied baccalaureate in the Colegio de las Escuelas Pías of Zaragoza, together with his uncle, the Piarist Father Manuel Langa. Then, he licensed in Philosophy and Letters, History Section, in Zaragoza's University, with extraordinary prize. He earned two scholarships to expand his studies abroad and to do his doctorate.
He entered the Cuerpo Facultativo de Archiveros, Bibliotecarios y Arqueólogos in 1931. He was destined in the Archivo de la Delegación de Hacienda of Huelva, and in the Biblioteca of Granada's University. In 1934, he was destined to the Archivo de la Delegación de Hacienda of Toledo.
During the Civil War, he did a report where he detailed the damage caused in the documentation due to the military actions in the zone of the Hospital de Santa Cruz of Toledo, occupied by the Archive.
In 1938, he won the position of interim archivist of the Diputación de Zaragoza, so he asked the leave of absence in the Body, by obtaining the position in 1941.
In January 1948, he was able to re-enter, and he was provisionally destined to the Biblioteca Universitaria of Zaragoza, position in which he was confirmed on 4 October 1950.
He ceased in the Biblioteca Universitaria on appointment by transfer competition, Vice-director of the Biblioteca Pública of Zaragoza and of the Centro Coordinador Provincial de Bibliotecas, centres of which he was Director from 1963, by the retirement of Luis Ximénez de Embún y Cantín, of which he was collaborator. He also was the responsible of the Archivo de la Diputación Provincial of Zaragoza.
He was also interim teacher of Instituto. He passed away at the age of 58, in July 1965, in Zaragoza.
