Spanish archivist and librarian.
Luis Chorro Soria was born in Oliva (Valencia) in 1888. He obtained his degree in Philosophy and Letters, History section, at the Universidad Central de Madrid.
On July 28, 1911, he joined the Corps of Specialist Archivists, Librarians and Archaeologists through a public examination and was first assigned to the Archivo de la Delegación de Hacienda in Tarragona. In 1913, he moved to the National Library of Spain, and the following year he took up a position at the Biblioteca Universitaria de Valencia.
At the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, he was still serving at the Biblioteca Universitaria de Valencia. However, he was dismissed from his post between March 31, 1937, and March 28, 1938. After the war, he was purged without sanction and reinstated in service. He retired from the Biblioteca Universitaria in 1958, at the age of 70.
