Spanish painter, illustrator and poster artist. Member of the family of artists Ballester, daughter of Rosa Vilaseca, seamstress and homemaker, and the sculptor Antonio Ballester Aparicio, teacher at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts of Valencia, and a renowned image maker, with his own workshop in the city of Valencia; Antonio (a sculptor), Josefina and Rosa Ballester's (both artists) sister.
She was a member of the Valencian Generation of the Thirties, with artist such as Josep Renau, that she would later marry and with whom she would collaborate in different artistic and literary projects.
She was a militant of the Spanish Communist Party (PCE) and was also a member of the Antifascist Women of Valencia Association, as well as member of the Alianza de Intelectuales Antifascistas en Defensa de la Cultura (Alliance of Anti-Fascist Intellectuals in Defense of Culture).
In 1939, she crossed the border with France and then the Renau-Ballester family went into exile to Mexico aboard the Veendam from Saint-Nazaire (France) arriving in New York (US) on 17 May 1939. From there to the Mexican border, they made the trip in a Grey Hound bus. She was accompanied by her husband, her children Rodrigo and Julia, her sisters Rosa and Josefina Ballester Vilaseca and her mother Rosa Vilaseca.
Later, she separated from Josep Renau. In Mexico, she opened an engraving workshop called "Las Ballester" with her younger sisters Rosa and Josefina Ballester.
