Spanish historian, archivist, and museum conservator.
She graduated in Philosophy and Letters from the Universidad de Valladolid in 1946. She was a French teacher at the Colegio El Salvador in Valladolid from 1950 to 1965.
At the Universidad de Valladolid, she served as an assistant professor iin the professorship of Epigraphy and Numismatics and later as a professor of Museology.
Since 1957, she was part of the Cuerpo Facultativo de Archivos, Bibliotecas y Museos, assigned to the General Archive of Simancas until 1967.
In 1968, she was appointed director of the National Museum of Sculpture , where she served until 1988.
She was an academician of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de la Purísima Concepción de Valladolid (1975) and was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts (1997).
She was the wife of the Spanish archaeologist, art historian and conservator, Federico Wattenberg.
She passed away at the age of 94 in Valladolid.
