Father Crisógono de Jesús (O.C.D.), a Spanish Discalced Carmelite religious. Philosopher, teacher, and writer.
A scholar and biographer of Saint John of the Cross. He was born in 1904 in Villamorisca (León), as Crisógono Lorenzo Garachón. He was a novice in Segovia and made his profession on December 5, 1920. He studied Philosophy in Ávila (1920-1924) and Theology in Toledo and Salamanca (1923-1927). He is the author of several works, including Vida de San Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesús: Su vida y su doctrina. He interacted with Miguel de Unamuno in Salamanca and taught theology at the Convent of Salamanca. He passed away in Usúrbil (Guipúzcoa) in March 1945. He is considered the most important figure of the Discalced Carmelites in the 20th century.
