Spanish entrepeneur, lawyer and deputy.
Born in Luarca (Asturias) in 1891, and was son of Gil Rico ad Germana González, and brother of Balbina, Gil and Mercedes.
He graduated in the baccaulaureate course in San Isidro Institute in Madrid, and he then licensed in Law in Oviedo's University in 1913. There, he met the reformist politician Melquiades Álvarez, who would become his friend and will influence him politically.
He founded-with the help of the Spanish finantial bourgeoise- and was director of the National Telephone Company of Spain (CTNE), and deputy to Court for Lugo. With the arrival of the Civil War, the CTNE's direction passed onto a republican comittee of action. He was threatened with death by the anarchists of the Work National Confederation, so he moved to Hendaya, where he reuninted with his family.
He received the title of Camera gentleman of the king Alfonso XIII, and the Silver Medal of the First Category of the Merit to Work of the Government in the nation.
He married Josefa Rodríguez Villar, with whom he had three children: Ramón, Gumersindo and María Josefa.
He passed away in his hometown at the age of 65 in 1957, due to an angina pectoris.
