Colegio de la Santísima Trinidad de Zaragoza (España)Other forms
from 1570 to 1808
There are few data about the "Colegio de la Santísima Trinidad" in Zaragoza, unless the fact that it was founded in 1570 thanks to the believers' alms and the help of the Convent of San Lamberto, which belonged to the same Trinitarian Order and was located in the same city. The school was destroyed due to the sieges that took place in Zaragoza during the War of Independence against the French troops. Part of the structure was conserved, so the University of Zaragoza decided to add it to its territories. Some years later, it was used as the provisional headquarters of the University Library between 1849 and 1862, when the fonds were transferred to another building.
