History:

The Unified Socialist Youth of Catalonia was a left-wing political youth organization established in April, 1936. It stemmed from the merger between the youth organizations which represented the political parties integrated within the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia, namely, the Socialist Union of Catalonia, the Communist Party of Catalonia, the Proletarian Catalonian Party and the Catalonian Federation of the PSOE. Following the end of the war, the Unified Socialist Youth of Catalonia remained a youth organization-in-exile of the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia, until replaced by the Communist Youth of Catalonia in 1970.
