History:

Spanish architect. Salvador was a deputy at the Congress and Minister of the Governing during Alfonso XII's reign. Amós Salvador Rodrigáñez's son (1845-1922) and Fernando's brother, who was an architect as well.

Amós Salvador studied Architecture in Madrid, and after he graduated, he set up his own lawyers' office in Madrid. He was the responsible of the building of the company Perfumería Gal, located in the Madrilenian neighborhood of Moncloa, and of the whole remodeling of the old tobacco company on Embajadores Street. Moreover, he was in charge of the building of several schools in Laciana (León), completely by free.

In parallel with Amós Salvador's professional career, he was a carpet-bagger of the Liberal Party for León in the 1910 elections, obtaining again a seat in the 1916, 1918, 1920 and 1923 elections, this time for Castellón. Manuel Azaña's friend and belonging as well to the Ateneo, he implicated himself with the republicanism, joining Azaña's political initiatives. Amós Salvador was elected deputy of Republican Action and Republican Left-Wing for Logroño in the 1933 and 1936 elections, respectively. He was as well Minister of Governing between 19th February and 10th May 1936, under Manuel Azaña's presidency.

When the Spanish Civil War was over, he took refuge in France and then went into exile to Caracas until 1945, just then he moved to New York. Between 1943 and 1944, he was the regional director of the Spanish Board of Liberation in Venezuela, leaded by Martínez Barrio y Prieto from Mexico, and being replaced by Toribio Echevarría. Subjected to the expropriation of his goods by the Francoist Courts of Political Responsabilities, came back to Madrid and died shortly after, in 1963.
