Spanish Law professor. He started his academic training by studying canons and laws at the Colegio-universidad de Oñate, where he was awarded a degree and a doctorate.

From his academic career outstood his chair of Moral Philosophy and his chair of Decretals at the Universidad de Oñate. He was appointed general director of studies at the College of Humanities of Santiago de Bilbao and, that year, the Colegio-Universidad de Oñate was transferred to Vitoria, where he was a librarian, a counsellor and the chancellor.

In 1856, he was appointed professor of Canonical Law at the Universidad de Madrid, where he got the chair of Ecclesiastical History, Councils and, Canonical Collections. He was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law and Rector of the Universidad de Madrid.

He held other positions:

Lawyer at the Courts of the Kingdom.

Supply chair at the disciplinary board of the University of Salamanca.

Supply Censor judge in the public examinations for the chairs at the University of Salamanca.

Academic at the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Science.
