History:

He was born in Santiago de Compostela to Juan Troncoso and Josefa Pequeño.

He studied Arts and graduated in Civil and Canonical La won 30th June 1871, obtaining his doctorate the following year. In 1876, he obtained his doctorate in Civil and Canonical Law.

He was professor in History and Elements of Roman Law at Universidad de Oviedo from June 1876 to October of the same year, when he relocated to Universidad de Santiago to teach Civil Law and Spanish Codes.

He was also professor in Spanish Common Civil and Moral Low at Universidad de Santiago in 1884. In 1896 he was elected vice-rector and in 1906 he became rector of Universidad de Santiago. He retired in 1919 and a year later he became Honorary Rector of said university.

He was also First Vice-President of the Academy of Jurisprudence of Santiago de Compostela in 1874, municipal court prosecutor and member of the Bar Association of Santiago since 1875.

From 1882 to 1889 he was Secretary of the Faculty of Law. In 1891 he became Academic Professor at the Real Academia de Jurisprudencia y Legislación of Granada. He was also mayor of Santigao from 1891 to 1895 and President of the Real Sociedad de Amigos del País de Santiago between 1899 and 1906.
