Orúe Arregui, José Ramón de (1894-1953)

He was a Spanish professor of Law. Son of Fermín Orué and Rosa Arregui, he married with María de los Desamparados de la Plaza Palanca. He studied the baccalaureate at the Universidad de Valladolid and graduated in Law at the Universidad Central de Madrid on the 20th of September, 1916, obtaining the doctorate in Law in 1918. He was granted with a scholarship by the Curatorium of the Academy of International Law of La Haya to study during summer in 1926.
Professor of Public and Private International Law of La Laguna in 1923. He was appointed dean of the Faculty of Law of the said university in 1923. Professor of Administrative Law between 1923 and 1926. He moved to the Universidad de Valencia to the chair of Public and Private International Law in 1925. He asked for dismissal in 1939 and in January of 1940 he was proposed for the admission in the active service without sanction.
Other positions he held were:
Editor and collaborator in various law journals. Member of the Dispute Tribunal of Valencia between 1926 and 1931. He taught a course at the Academy of International Law of La Haya in 1935.
