He was a Spanish professor of Law who was born in Zaragoza. Son of Alejandro Mendizábal and María Manuela Martín, he got married with Luisa Villalba Lázaro and they had eight children. He passed away in Madrid.
He studied the high school at the Instituto de Zaragoza and graduated in Law at the Universidad Central on the 17th of March, 1880, obtaining the doctorate in Law in 1882.
Professor of Elements of Natural Law of the Universidad de Salamanca in 1887. He moved to the Universidad de Valladolid to the same chair in November of 1887.
Professor of Legal Proceedings and Forensic Practice and of Writing of Public Instruments of the Universidad de Valladolid in 1893. He moved to the Universidad de Zaragoza to the same chair in July of 1893. He was a professor of Criminal Law of the Universidad de Zaragoza in 1895 and professor of Elements of Natural Law of the said university in 1904. He moved to the Universidad Central de Madrid to the chair of Philosophy of Law in 1917. Appointed dean of the Faculty of Law of the said university in 1931, he retired in 1931.
