He was a professor of Spanish Law who was born in Zaragoza. Son of Luis Mendizábal Martín, professor of University, and of Luisa Villalba, he got married with Louise Charlotte Marthe Hübner-Reynaud. He passed away in Almería.
He graduated in Law in the Universidad de Zaragoza in 1917, obtaining the doctorate in Law at the Universidad Central in 1919. He continued his studies at the Universities of Paris, Nancy, Lille, Brussels, Louvain, Rome, Milan, Munich, Cologne, Berlin, Vienna, Geneve and Lausanne. He was granted with a scholarship to move to England, Germany and France.
Professor of Elements of Natural Law of the Universidad de Oviedo in 1926. He was sanctioned and separated from service definitely in 1937. During the Civil War, he exiled into France and United States. In 1977, he qualified for the amnesty decreed on the 30th of July, 1976, asking for his reinstatement to the professors’ team. He retired in 1987.
Other positons he held were:
Member of the Institut International de Philosophie du Droit. Professor of the New School for Social Research of New York from 1942 to 1946. He worked at the UNESCO as a translator from 1946 to 1953.
