History:

The establishment of the Special Court for the Repression of Freemasonry and Communism¹ was laid down in article 12 of the Law on the repression of freemasonry and communism issued on the 1st March. It was created by virtue of Decree of the 4th June, 1940. The court became operational in May 1941 and was reliant upon two special courts, joined by a third one in February, 1942. Both the TERMC and its three courts were abolished in 1963. Jesús Riaño Goiri was the first head judge of the special court Nº1; Ramón Orbe Bustamante was the first district attorney and Tomás Marco Garmendia the first secretary.
