History:

Louis Anton Gayle was born on July 22, 1912 in New York City. He was Jewish, single and worked as stage director. In December 28, 1937 he lived in Brooklyn, New York, from where he sailed to Spain on January 4, 1938 aboard the “Champlain”. He arrived in on January 16, 1938 and served with the 15th International Brigade, in the International Brigade Medics, last unit Lincoln-Washington Battalion, as aid man with the rank of corporal. He returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the “Ausonia”. Gayle died in October 16, 2000 in Los Angeles, California.
