History:

Cannon, Karl Jacob, was born on the 19th of April 1912 in New York. He was Russian American and attended the university for 3 years, and was automobile worker. He joined the Communist Party and Youth Communist League in 1930 and served as section organizer. He sailed from the United States on the 28th of April 1937 aboard the "Aquitania" and arrived in Spain on the 30th of May 1937 after surviving the sinking of the City of Barcelona. He served with the Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion of the 15th International Brigade. In June 1938 he was with the Estado Mayor Instruction and his last unit was the Company 4 where he served as Private. He died on the 25th of June 1997 in Camarilla, California.
