History:

Spiller, Samuel was born on the 25th of March 1915 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He had High school education and worked as Automobile mechanic. He joined the Young Communist League in September 1936 as Branch President. He sailed on the 13th of April 1937 aboard the "Georgic" and arrived in Spain on the 1st of May 1937. He served with 1 Ursine from May 1937 until May 1938. Then, from July 1938, he served with the Company 2 of the Lincoln-Washington Battalion of the 15th International Brigade and from September 1938, he served as Corporal in the Company 1 of the same battalion. He participated at the Ebro Offensive on the 23rd of September 1938. He returned to the United States on the 31st of December 1938 aboard the "President Harding". He went to the Second World War with the Armed Forces of the United States. He died on the 4th of March 1997.
