History:

Maynard Goldstein was born on December 2, 1913, in New York City. He attended to the New York University, where he studied Journalism and Advertising. He entered the Communist Party of the United States of America in 1935.

He sailed on February 1937 aboard the” Ile de France” and arrived in France. He crossed the Pyrenees together with other volunteers and arrived in Spain late February or early March. He served with the Lincoln Battalion of the 15th International Brigade. He fought in Jarama and was detached to Brunete, Quinto and Belchite divisions during the battles.

Early 1938, Maynard returned to the US aboard the “Veedam”. In the Second World War he was civilian. He died on January 12, 2011 in Manhattan, New York City.
