Minor, Ben was born on the 3rd of August 1916 in Bronx, New York. He was Jewish and worked as printer. He joined the Communist Party in 1937 in the section of cultural work and Young Communist League in 1935. He sailed from the United States on the 1st of December 1937 aboard the "Manhattan" and arrived in Spain on the 11th of December 1937. He served with the Company 1 of the Lincoln-Washington Battalion of the 15th International Brigade. He fought at Teruel, Gandesa, Caspe, where he was wounded in action, and Batea, where he was promoted from Private to Sergeant. He was awarded with the "wrist watch" for bravery during the Retreats. He returned to the United States on the 31st of December 1938 aboard the "President Harding". He went to the Second World War with the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific and Middle East as Aerial Navigator, with the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He died in 1999.
