Spanish educationalist and teacher, daughter of Laura García Hoppe and Hermenegildo Giner de los Ríos, who was brother of Francisco Giner de los Ríos. She was student of the Free Educational Institution, founded by her uncle Francisco. She studied Teacher Education and was teacher in the Normal School of Granada. She married a distant cousin, Fernando de los Ríos Urruti. When the Spanish Civil War started, her husband was designated Ambassador in Washington and they moved there at the end of September 1936. When the conflict was over, they settled in the USA. She returned to Spain in 1961.
