Berjano Escobar, Daniel (1853-1938)

Spanish lawyer, writer and property registrar. Son of Carlos Berjano Fernández-Banciella, major of Oviedo, and of Teresa Escobar. Brother of Gerardo Berjano Escobar, professor and major of Oviedo too.
He studied high school and the Law Degree in Oviedo. He also dedicated himself to the exercise of literature, publishing numerous works in newspapers of the capital of Asturias, such as El Eco de Asturias, El Faro de Asturias or El Carbayón.
In 1879 he began his work as a Property Registrar in several places of Extremadura, chairing the Central Board of that group.
He founded Revista de Extremadura, which he directed until it was suspended in 1911. In 1901, he was appointed member of the Academy of History. The Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando awarded his continuous work in the field of the artistic investigation granting him with the position of academician in 1918.
