B. P. Schulberg was a pioneer film producer from the USA.
At the beginning, he was advertising director of Famous Players-Lasky. After that, he left and co-founded Associated Motion Picture Advertisers. At the age of 27, in 1919, he founded Preferred Pictures, where he worked with a great number of actors like Katherine MacDonald or Clara Bow. When he went bankrupt, he joined Adolph Zukor and became associated producer of Paramount Pictures. Schulberg was considered a "New Deal" liberal and began with big productions with Clara Bow again until he joined Columbia Pictures in 1940. He has a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame because he is one of the most recognized film producers. Some of his most famous productions are: "The Last Command" (1928), "Wings" (1927) and "It" (1927).
He died the 25th Febraury 1957 in Key Biscayne, Florida, at the age of 65.
