History:

Spanish woman who exiled in Mexico. She was born in Barcelona in 1911, daughter of a tanner, Juan Bosh Vila, who was also exiled. She did her basic studies in Barcelona and started to study in the "Instituto de Cultura y Bibliotecas para la mujer" at the age of 14. She joined the "Estat Catalá" and later the "Bloque Obrero y Campesino" (POUM). In 1933, she passed the Civil Service examination for typist in the City Hall of Barcelona. In 1934, she got married with architect Jamie Ros Poch, who was also a member of the POUM.

Between 1936 and 1939, she lived in the Virreina Palace in Barcelona, that was taken by the Party, and her and her husband was in charge of organizing a library. She also was an active member of the POUM, but clandestinely.

After the fall of Barcelona, they moved to France, more especially to Perpignan, and were in Argelés concentration camp, in Narbonne and Bordeaux. They finally went to Mexico and settled in Mexico City in 1940.

Between 1940 and 1988, she ran a fashion shop in Mexico and her husband worked as architect. They had a son and a daughter, though she did not became Mexican citizen and lost all contact with her political life. Since 1976, Barcelona City Hall granted her the retirement and she travels to Spain every year, though she is quite bound to Mexico.
