Botella Pastor, Claudio (1912-?)

Spanish student that exiled due to the Spanish Civil War, son of Minister of Justice of the Second Republic, Juan Botella Asensi. He studied Architecture and Exact Sciences, but he quit his studies in order to serve in the Republican army.
After the war, he first exiled in France, where he was imprisoned along with his brother Ovidio Botella Pastor in Argelès-sur-Mer concentration camp. Afterwards, he lived for some months in Paris before going to Mexico. He arrived to Veracruz (Mexico) on board "Flandre" in June 1939 with his wife Gloria Medina, his son Claudio Botella Medina, his father Juan Botella Asensi, his borthers Ovidio Botella Pastor and Virgilio Botella Pastor, his sisters-in-law Ángeles Campos Arteaga and María Dolores Batalla Altamirano, and his nephews Ángela and Ovidio Botella Campos. Once in Mexico, he had other four children: Gloria, who was champion of swimming in the Central American and Caribbean Games of 1959; Juan, olympic medalist in Diving in the Olympic Games of Rome 1960; Ofelia and Virgilio. In Mexico, and thanks to the help of the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE), opened his own business, a graphic arts company. There is not more information about his life.
