Harry Joe Brown was an American film director and producer. He began his career in theatre, as actor and director as well. He moved to Hollywood and started directing movies for Universal Pictures in 1930. Later on, he also worked for the Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures, especially directing Westerns. Among his most important works are: "Crossroad" (1955-1957), "Knickerbocker Holiday" (1944) and "Sitting pretty" (1933).
