Amalia Prieto Cantero was a Spanish archivist. She graduated in Philosophy and Literature from the University of Valladolid. After passing public examination, she joined the Corps of Archivists, Librarians and Archaeologists in 1935. She was firstly assigned to the General Archive of Simancas, where she worked for most of her professional career. From 1935 to 1940 she was also assigned to the Archivo de Hacienda (Treasury Office) of Lugo. From 1968 to July 1981 she was director of the University and of the Provincial Historical Archive of Valladolid. Since 1976 she was a member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes "Purísima Concepción" of Valladolid and she was its first female member. She is the author of several publications among which it is worth highlighting "Cervantes en Valladolid".
