History:

Luis García Rives was a Spanish archivist. He studied Secondary Education at Instituto General y Técnico del Cardenal Cisneros, as did his siblings Angela and Moisés. He studied Philosophy and Letters, History Section, at the Central University of Madrid. He joined the Corps of Archivists, Librarians, and Archaeologists in 1915. His sister Angela belonged to this body since 1913 too. He was assigned to the Archivo General Central (Central General Archive) of Alcalá de Henares. Later, he started working at the Archive and Library of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1951 he was granted the Command of the Civil Order of Alfonso X, the Wise.
