Spanish journalist, writer and politician. Her grandfather was Juan Fernández Latorre (1849-1912), who founded the newspaper "La Voz de Galicia".
Armesto got married with Felipe Fernández Armesto (1904-2002), writer and journalist as well, known as Augusto Assía. She graduated in Journalism and worked as a stringer in different countries. During the first Constituent Legislature, in the first democratic elections, she was elected deputy of the Parliamentarian Group of Alianza Popular for A Coruña. In the I Legislature (1979-1982), she was elected deputy as well of the Parliamentarian Group of Coalición Democrática, and finally, in the II Legislature (1982-1986), of the Mixed Parliamentarian Group. In 1986, she joined the Mixed Group because of some discrepancies with the party management, which promoted the Referendum on the Spain's permanence in NATO.
She was awarded with some distinctions, such as Pedrón de Ouro (1970), Concepción Arenal del Centro Galego de Buenos Aires Prize (1970) and Castelao Medal (1997).
