Spanish lecturer, labor lawyer and politician. Ana María did secondary studies at the Murillo Institute of Seville. In 1966, she graduated in Law from the University of Seville. In 1968 she joined UGT and PSOE. From 1969 to 1972, she was an administrative technician in Labor Insurances. Along with Felipe González, she was one of the founders of the first Legal Work Consultancy of Andalusia, known as "Despacho de Capitán Vigueras". In 1972 she started working as a labor lawyer, balancing this post with her membership at PSOE and UGT. Until 1975 she had been an assistant teacher at the Faculty of Law of Seville in the chair of Labor Law. In the very first democratic elections, Ana María was elected deputy of the Socialist Parliamentarian Group for Seville during the Constituent Legislature (1977-1979) and in the I Legislature (1979-1982). She also was elected senator for Seville in the II, III and IV Legislatures, in which her interventions in the Constitutional and Justice Commissions can be highlighted. In 1933 she was elected president of AECID, where she had the opportunity to participate in Haiti, Ruanda and several summits about human rights. Ana María was also member of Amnesty International and the Movement for the Peace, highlighting her role in the enforcement of the Law on Gender Violence. Married with the politician Rafael Escudero Rodríguez (1944-), president of the autonomous government of Andalusia.
