Spanish socialist politician, historical leader of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE/Spanish Socialist Worker's Party) and unionist of Unión General de Trabajadores (UGT/General Union of Workers). Eduardo López Albizu was arrested for his political activities during the Franco regime.

Lalo, as Eduardo was known, became a union leader of the Naval de Sestao since his youth, where he worked as an adjuster.

In April 1967 after the sit-in strike, which was supported by 25,000 workers in the metallurgical industry in Vizcaya, the state of emergency in the whole province was declared. Nicolás Redondo, Ramón Rubial and López Albizu were arrested as union leaders, as well as imprisoned in first instance in Larrinaga and later exiled to Huércal Overa, in the province of Almería and his wife, Begoña Álvarez, to Cáceres.

In 1974 he participated in the Congress of Suresnes, which changed the political and ideological orientation of the PSOE, and in which he gave his support to Felipe González.

He was the father of the leader of the Partido Socialista de Euskadi (Socialist Party of Euskadi), Euskadiko Ezkerra, and former Lehendakari of the Basque Government Patxi López.

He attended the 1977 General Elections of Spain for the province of Vizcaya, where he won the seat as deputy with his fellow party members José María Benegas and Nicolás Redondo, being deputy until 1982. He was also President of the PSE-EE of Vizcaya.
