Spanish engineer and politician. Sánchez-Terán graduated in Civil Engineering from the Central University of Madrid (1950-1952).

According to Sánchez-Terán's political career, he was the president of the National Catholic Action Youth (1959), vice-president of the Catholic Action Youth (1963) and founder of the Prolesa group (1968).

Later on he was the general-director of RENFE, advisor of the National Institute of Industry, undersecretary of Public Works (1973), civil governor of Barcelona (1976-1977), Adolfo Suárez's advisor (1977), and deputy for Salamanca in the Constituent Legislature (1977-1979), in which he participated in the negotiations with Josep Torrellas for the re-establishment of the Government of Catalonia. Sánchez-Terán was elected again as a deputy in the I Legislature, becoming the Minister of Transports and Communications, Minister of Work and president of Telefónica.

After UCD disappeared, Sánchez-Terán left politics and ran the COPE radio station and Tata Motors in Spain. He also was the president of the Social Council of the University of Salamanca (2012) and employer of the Villalar-Castilla y León Foundation.
