Azzati, Félix (1874-1929)

Spanish journalist, translator and politician. His parents were from Italy. Azzati was Vicente Blasco Ibañez's friend, co-worker and political successor as the manager of the newspaper "El Pueblo" from 1907, as deputy of Courts between 1907 and 1923, and as member of PURA or Autonomous Republican Union Party. Azzati got married with Esperanza Cutanda in 1900, becoming the first civil marriage in Valencia. They had six children: Renán, Néstor, Octavio, Arnaldo, Magda and Paz. Morever, his daughter was the feminist Pilar Soler i Miquel (1914-2006), fruit of Azzati's extramarital relationship with Angeles Soler Miquel.
