History:

International association that promoted the European institutional integration after the Second World War. Founded in 1948 at the Hague Congress, one of the first objectives of the organization was to create a European assembly, which took place in the European Parliament in 1949. It was chaired by the Englishman Duncan Sandys, nominating honorary presidents of Winston Churchill, Alcide of Gasperi, Henri Spaaky and León Blum.
