History:

He was a vicar and a government representative. He was born in Madrid. He was the grandson of Fernando VI's milkmaid. He studied grammar and philosophy at the Court and then moved to the University of Havana where he enrolled and studied ecclesiastical theology. He continued his formation in Mexico, at the Colegio de San Ildefonso, at the request of the Bishop of Nicaragua, Esteban Lorenzo Tristán. He was ordained a priest in Durango and then became the priest of Sombrerete, and afterwards the vicarage of San Ignacio de Tamazula. He also worked at the curates of Guarisamey, Bolaños, Chapala and Tala.

He was elected Government Representative of Guadalajara in 1813, but he never took office. He contributed with donations to the fight against the French and opposed the incipient revolutionary movements in Mexico.
