Spanish violinist.
Luis Rivas was a member and secretary of the Orquesta Bética de Cámara since 1939. He belonged to the Quinteto Clásico de Sevilla, along with pianist Manuel Navarro, violinists Fernando Oliveras and Joaquín Fons, and cellist Segismundo Romero. He also played with Luis Díaz, Fernando Fonseca, Francisco Espinosa, Rafael Ruiz and José Gardey in the chamber ensemble of the Patronato Municipal de Música Joaquín Turina.
In 1939 Rivas corresponded with Manuel de Falla, to whom he expressed his gratitude for the signed photograph he received through Segismundo Romero. He also informed the composer on several occasions about the efforts of the Orquesta Bética de Cámara, including the direction of some concerts by Ernesto Halffter or the group's participation in a tribute to José María Pemán.
