Spanish doctor, gastroenterologist, and academic.
He was born in 1890 in Granada. He was the son of Gregorio Fidel Fernández Osuna, professor of Medical Pathology at the Facultad de Granada.
He studied medicine at the Facultad de Medicina in Granada and then obtained his doctorate in 1913 from the Central University of Madrid with the thesis: El kala-azar infantil en las provincias de Granada, Málaga y Almería.
In 1920, he won a position through public examination at the Beneficencia Provincial de Granada and was assigned to the Hospital de San Juan de Dios.
During the Spanish Civil War, he served as a Medical Captain and Head of the Digestive System Team at the III Cuerpo del Ejército del Hospital San Francisco (Granada) .
He was also a member of the Academias de Medicina y Bellas Artes and Conservador de la Alhambra. He maintained correspondence with Manuel de Falla. He was the author of numerous books, including: Sierra Nevada, La Alhambra, and Aben Humeya. He passed away in his hometown in 1942
