She was a Spanish archivist and historian. She studied Philosophy and Arts at Central University in Madrid and she specialized in Medieval History with Claudio Sánchez-Albornoz in the Center for Historical Studies. In 1931, she joined the Corps of Archivists, Librarians and Archeologists and she was assigned to the Spanish National Library, where she could reconcile work and research. In fact, in 1935, she received a scholarship from the JAE in order to broaden her education working in different European libraries and archives. She spent most of her professional life, before and after the Spanish Civil War, working in the ¿Archivo de la Delegación de Hacienda de Barcelona¿
Archive of Treasury Department in Barcelona, where she moved after her marriage with Luis García de Valdeavellano, legal historian with whom she worked together in many academic works. During the War, she held the position of archivist and librarian in Simancas, Avila and Valladolid, under the Committee on Culture and Education of the Spanish Technical Board
