Comunión Tradicionalista (España)Other forms
from 1931 to 1986
It sprang up in 1931 after the merger of the National Catholic Party with the Traditionalist Catholic Party.
Ideology: traditionalism and Carlism.
It obtained 29 representatives in the 1933 general election and 13 seats in the 1936 election.
It was officially dissolved by Decree of Unification in 1937, whereby the Spanish party of fascist inspiration Falange Española and the Traditionalist Communion merged into a single party, known as Falange Española Tradicionalista de la JONS. Nevertheless, the non-sympathizers who opposed to this unification continued to use the designation Traditionalist Communion.
The Congress held in El Escorial (Madrid) in May 1986 led to the merger of Traditionalist Communion, Catholic-Monarchic Communion and Carlist Union, which consequently gave rise to the reestablishment of the Traditionalist Carlist Communion.
