He was a Spanish politician. His son would be Dean of the Colegio de Notarios de Barcelona. He graduated at the Seminario Conciliar y Episcopal de Barcelona and completed his degree at the Universidad de Sevilla in 1839, obtaining the doctorate in 1846.
Professor of Codes of the Universidad de Valladolid in 1848. He moved to the Universidad de Barcelona to the same chair in 1848. Professor of History and Elements of Common and Foral Spanish Civil Law at the said university. Professor of Philosophy of Law and International Law of the Universidad Central de Madrid in 1862.
Other positions he held were:
First secretary of the Academia de Jurisprudencia y Legislación in 1840. He was appointed mayor-president of the City Council of Barcelona in 1856. Parliamentary deputy by the district of Barcelona in the elections of 1857, 1858, 1863 and 1864. Minister of Overseas from August to November of 1863.
