History:

Spanish architect, son of architect Jose Luis Mariano Benlliure López de Arana and Soledad Galán Guerra, and grandson of sculptor Mariano Benlliure Gil. He exiled in Mexico with his parents and his sister Lucrecia after the Spanish Civil War. They arrived to Veracruz in 1939 on board "Flandre" ship. Once there, he worked as teacher in the School of Architecture of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
